On Saturday 25 January 2025, we opened our doors to a fantastic group of EcoGrads eager to join our internship programme. It was truly heart-warming to meet so many highly educated, motivated, and compassionate graduates and undergraduates who are determined to make a difference.
💡 Our 3-month Internship Programme
We offer five workstreams for gaining hands-on experience:
🔹 Community Engagement
🔹 Communications
🔹 Fundraising & Partnerships
🔹 Operations & Data
🔹 Research
To ensure all interns can effectively communicate the urgency of our work, we require participation in both a Climate Fresk and a Biodiversity Collage. These provide crucial knowledge to engage and educate our communities.
🎓 Real-World Experience & Training
We are committed to equipping our interns with practical skills in:
✔ Working with partners, funders, local authorities & community groups
✔ Mapping, event management & networking
✔ Platforming innovation & community-driven solutions
Through People’s Assemblies and workshops, we create tangible impact—feeding our insights directly into Greater London Authority & Islington Council. As we expand, we aim to bring these workshops to more community centres and businesses across Islington.
🚀 A Stepping Stone to Meaningful Careers
Our goal is to serve as a launchpad for these talented young people, providing real-world experience, valuable connections, and professional training to support their career aspirations.
🙏 A Huge Thank You!
Thanks to the mighty Trisha Guevarra for for her EcoGrad network.
This programme was designed brilliantly by Moriah Hull, one of our key volunteers since June, with incredible support from Jonathan Foster, who has been instrumental in streamlining our operations. A special shoutout to Anna Hyde, Crystal Cheung, Ines Alanah, and Nicholas Till for their contributions.
We are also hugely grateful to 180 Degrees Consulting, Duc Huynh and their team for developing a strategy on volunteer retention, fundraising, and social media—which we are actively implementing. Our anonymous feedback system has been a great first step, with positive responses so far!
A massive thank you to Sara Kenney for sharing her invaluable wisdom on grant applications last week! 🙌
